Businesses and individuals around the world are increasingly looking for ways to reduce their fuel consumption and ever-increasing fuel costs. We are continuously being reminded to play our part in reducing the damage being done to the environment, primarily aimed at cutting the consumption of “fossil” fuels, and the production of CO2. One of our aims at The Green House is to help you achieve this and save you money. We understand here at The Green House that the majority of the “solutions” that are recommended involve: replacing old equipment for new and this can be expensive. The Green House has the pleasure of introducing a range of low-cost, simple-to-fit, long-life Fuel Conditioning Magnets. Used in engines and heating equipment which not only save money on your fuel costs but also reduce the consumption of hydrocarbon-based fuels (liquids and gases) they improve the combustion efficiency and thereby produce more energy (heat in heating equipment and power in engines) from the same amount of fuel. They also have the added benefit of reducing both the volumes and the levels of harmful emissions.
HEATING: These Fuel Conditioners can be used
on all types and sizes of domestic, commercial, and industrial oil/natural gas / LPG fired heating equipment - e.g. patio heaters, barbecues, boilers, water heaters, hot air blowers, ovens, kilns, tumble dryers, kitchen equipment, grain dryers etc. They are used in schools, offices, homes, bakeries, laundries, foundries, churches, power stations, leisure centers, swimming pools, meeting halls, horticultural centre’s’, farms etc. Reported savings for industrial/commercial applications are typically in the range of 5-20%, while customers using domestic/small commercial equipment generally report savings of 20% or more. Greater savings (30 %+) are often achieved with LPG. Where oil-burning equipment is involved a reduction in the amount of carbon deposits that occurs - extending the time needed between cleaning.
ENGINES: The Fuel Conditioners can be used all types & sizes of petrol and diesel engines i.e. Heavy Goods Vehicles, Commercial Vans, Cars, Coaches, Mini-Buses, Motorbikes, Generators, Compressors, Garden & Horticultural equipment (mowers, trimmers etc), Agricultural equipment i.e. Tractors, Construction equipment, Boats, Canal Barges i.e. auxiliary engines & generators. We have reported fuel savings are generally in the 5-20% range (sometimes higher) with this more complete and efficient combustion reductions have been achieved in the more harmful components within the emissions – including diesel particulates.
OPERATION & PAYBACK: The Fuel Conditioning Magnets require no operating power or chemicals and no maintenance costs; they generate no emissions. There are no moving parts. The products and their effectiveness should last indefinitely. They are guaranteed for 10 years. On home heating applications, a 100% return (in the form of lower fuel bills) will usually be achieved in the first three months (winter usage). On larger installations, this may be 6 months. 100% Payback on engines varies tremendously on mileage/operating hours. For cars it is typically a period of 2-3 months. Commercially used vehicles/engines can be just one or two weeks.

Loft traps provide a saving in terms of both time and money compared to traditional joiner-made timber loft access doors. Available in Hinged, Drop In, and Fire Rated options each trap passes all Building Regulation Part L air tightness testing requirements.
The hinged down model has been independently tested by the BRE (Building Research Establishment) to record a zero air leakage rate at 50Pa while the Drop In trap performed to 0.55 m3/hr at 50Pa. All traps are manufactured to BS EN ISO 9001 : 2008 and incorporate an integral draught /vapour seal in conjunction with a fully insulated door panel.
The Hinged option allows for use of a telescopic loft ladder. Fire rated loft traps provide access through the ceiling into the roof void in situations where fire protection is required and provide up to 60 minutes fire protection and Class O surface spread of flame classification. The frame and door are fabricated in polyester coated 1mm and 1.2mm Zintec electro-galvanised mild steel.
• Product No: 1168 – Drop In rectangular loft access door with clear opening dimensions of 526mm x 626mm
• Product No: 1169 – Hinged Down rectangular loft access door with twist operated catch release. Clear opening dimensions: 526mm x 626mm
• Product No: 1169 - Keylock - as above but with secure key operated lock assembly
• Products No. 1160 – Hinged Down rectangular 1 hr fire rated loft access door with twist operated catch release. Clear opening dimensions: 520mm x 695mm
• Products No. 1161 – Hinged Down rectangular 1 hr fire rated loft access door with twist operated catch release. Clear opening dimensions: 520mm x 580mm
• Ladder 8 - two section telescopic aluminium loft ladder for the 1169 range. For situations where the height from floor to top of the ceiling joist is not more than 2.66m
• Ladder 10 - three section telescopic aluminium loft ladder for the 1169 range. For situations where the height from floor to top of the ceiling joist is not more than 3.0m

The Attic Tent is specifically designed to create an air barrier between your attic and the living space below. Suitable for most types of folding stairs the Attic Tent is an economical and practical solution to an old age problem of unnecessary air infiltration and heat loss.
Even if your attic is well insulated, the folding stairs that provide access can be a major source of heat loss. Often poorly sealed, they provide only a thin piece of plywood to keep the heated air from escaping.
Homeowners have attempted to remedy the age old problem of leaky trap door by placing insulation on top of it, but unfortunately it never solves the problem. This technique doesn't provide an airtight barrier and results in no reduction in the amount of air or heat loss. The Attic Tent is professionally packed, and comes fully assembled and ready to install.
• Creates an air tight barrier
• Easy to install
• Delivered fully assembled
• Improves thermal performance
• Eliminates heat loss and air leakage
• Saves you money
• Made from very durable, lightweight insulation material
• Easy and strong zipper access
• Tried and tested in thousands of homes
• Can be used with attic stairs and doors
• Suitable for dormer knee walls
• Up to seven different sizes available
• Prevents harmful dust and fiberglass entering the living space
Revised Part L of the current Building Regulations place more emphasis on the need to prevent Air Infiltration and seal around access or service hatches which provide access to unheated voids (loft spaces) from the conditioned space.
By using Attic Tent you solve this problem by significantly reducing this air leakage and heat loss, to create a more comfortable living space while also lowering your energy bills. The Attic Tent also prevents unwanted fibers and dust from entering the home.
Knee (Dormer) Wall Access Door
A regular source of heat loss and air infiltration is through the knee wall access door. This is an area used for additional storage in dormer roofs. The installation of an Attic Tent will prevent the movement for air from the ventilated eaves into the heated room.
The Attic Tent is easy to install. It fits easily around your attic stairs frame and can be secured with staples to any surface, smooth or rough. It is recommended that you place a bead of mastic around the seam for additional air tightness. Alternatively you can use a quality double sided tape to secure the Attic Tent to the timber surface. Chimney closure systems reduce heat loss and eliminate down draughts when the fireplace is not in use. The chimney closure seals out sleet, rain and snow. It keeps out birds, animals and reduces noise. Also, it allows draught control when the fire is in use.
The annual savings are calculated to be over €110 per year. The calculated saving of carbon dioxide (CO2) is 0.5 tonnes per year. The simple payback for the Chimney Closure System is just over 2 years.
How does the chimney closure work?
A spring loaded cap, fitted to a customised sleeve, is simply placed in the chimney and locked into position.. It is shut by means of a chain that extends through the flue, to the fireplace, where it is secured to a bracket fastened into the forward part of the side fireplace wall. The fitting time will vary from house to house but on average, the Chimney Closure can be installed onto a chimney in under 45 minutes.
