Hemp

Mat & Roll Form Insulation Made From The World's Oldest & Most Natural Fibre

Thermo Hemp InstallationOur hemp insulation is a general purpose natural fibre insulation product. Manufactured from a blend of hemp and other natural fibres, incorporating a binder to ensure the product retains its thickness.

Hemp grows up to a height of nearly 4 metres within a period of 100-120 days. Because the plants shade the soil, no chemical protection or toxic additives are required for hemp cultivation. As well as having low embodied energy during manufacture, hemp is carbon negative as it locks in carbon during its growth.

Hemp is one of the oldest cultivated plants on earth, hemp is not only used as an excellent insulating material, but also for clothing, paper, oil, fuel, food and other construction materials.

It has exceptional insulation properties due to a combination of low thermal conductivity and high thermal mass – reducing internal temperature fluctuations and enhancing thermal comfort.

Hemp Benefits:

  • Heathier for you - made from natural hemp plant fibres grown without any chemicals or toxic additives. Hemp is totally safe and easy for you to install.
  • Healthier for your home - its hygroscopic properties hemp regulate humdity offsetting condensation risk. What’s more it’s naturally resistant to mould growth and insect attack and has outstanding fire resistance.
  • Healthier for the environment - as well as having low embodied energy during manufacture, hemp is carbon negative as it locks in carbon during it’s growth.

Wool Insulation

Sheep's Wool Insulation - Warmer, Safer, Smarter!

Wool InstallationSheep wool insulation is truly sustainable; each year over 50 million kilograms of wool are sheared in the UK alone. Our wool insulation uses the waste dark coloured wool that is not required by other industries.

Sheep wool insulation is resilient and strong – the wool fibre has a natural spring which ensures the insulation doesn’t compact over time unlike other insulations. It is also very strong, yet can be torn by hand across direction to facilitate installation.

Wool draws out moisture from the fabric of the building and allows it to evaporate out of the building. Even having absorbed up to 30% moisture it maintains its thermal performance, whereas mineral wool insulation performance deteriorates dramatically. Only a few percentage points of moisture can reduce thermal performance by up to 50%, leading to increased condensation.

Man made insulation can only be disposed of into landfill; no recycling system is currently in place. Whereas sheep’s wool insulation can be composted at the end of its life; this not only generates soil enriching humus but also nitrogen fertilisers.

Pavawall Wood Fibre Insulation Board

Pavawall Wood Fibre InsulationPavawall, a natural, woodfibre insulation board that offers the best thermal conductivity performance (K-value) of any woodfibre board render product on the market, at just 0.040 W/mK.

Designed to be used with a rendered finish on retrofit or new build masonry applications, Pavawall is supplied in batts of up to 160mm thickness, offering a simple solution for delivering extremely high levels of insulation. The insulation has excellent breathability, resulting from its vapour open structure and the hygroscopic properties of the woodfibre.

Pavawall also has remarkable sustainability benefits. Manufactured entirely from wood waste, the material locks up more carbon than is used throughout its manufacture and delivery to site; carbon lock up is approximately one tonne of CO2 per tonne of product from ‘cradle to site’.

Pavaflex Natural Wood Fibre High Performance Insulation

Pavaflex Natural Wood Fibre High Performance InsulationPavaflex is an ultra high performance, natural insulation manufactured from sustainable wood fibre. Supplied as an easy to handle insulating batt, Pavaflex provides a simple, sustainable way of delivering excellent levels of both thermal and acoustic insulation for lofts, walls and floors. Being fully breathable, the insulation ensures a building structure is also able to self regulate moisture levels to prevent the formation of interstitial or internal condensation, preventing damp and mould growth and, thereby, safeguarding a healthy living environment.

Pavaflex’s high density (55 Kg/m3) means the batts are self-supporting and not subject to slumping. In addition, they also have high levels of thermal mass, which provides effective insulation against summertime overheating..

With a thermal conductivity of just 0.038 W/mK, heat transfer through the material is minimised, while Pavaflex’s complex non-woven structure also reduces heat loss through convection. Its vapour-open, hygroscopic properties, which enable it to regulate moisture levels, also mean there is no heat loss through dampness. Simple, natural, non-reacting compounds added to the material provide protection against insects, biological and fungal attack and make it unattractive to vermin. In addition, Pavaflex is CE marked, has a Euroclass E fire protection rating, and is approved for use as loft, wall and ceiling insulation. It is also free from CFCs and VOCs and does not constitute a waste hazard on disposal.

Pavaflex Natural Wood Fibre High Performance InsulationPavaflex batts are available in lengths of 1.35m and widths of 375mm and 575mm. Thicknesses range from 40mm to 240mm, in 20 mm increments, with a 50mm thick batt also available. Standard thicknesses of 50mm, 80mm, 100mm and 140mm are available as stock items. Batts are easily cut to size with a knife or wood saw. Completely safe to handle, Pavaflex is simple to install, with the batts’ elastic form providing the flexibility to achieve a tight, snug fit while maintaining its size and shape.

Pavaflex is not suitable for use in masonry cavity walls or beneath ground floor slabs.

Pavadentro Internal Insulation

Pavadentro Internal InsulationPavadentro for the internal insulation of exterior walls is an innovative, ecological insulation with excellent capillary and hygroscopic properties which prevent condensation formation and degrading of the building fabric. In addition the specially designed integrated mineral functional layer provides effective moisture control: It balances humidity levels by buffering water vapour and releasing moisture back into the room to maintain a steady equilibrium.

The Pavadentro wood fibre insulation board, especially designed for internal insulation of the exterior walls on old and historic buildings, was awarded with the innovation award by the Swiss federal department for the environment. The board reduces the formation of condensation in the existing construction to a minimum and creates a comfortable living environment.

Bio Based Insulation

BioBased Insulation Spray FoamBioBased Insulation spray foam products help to lessen the environmental impact of residential and commercial structures by sealing and insulating in one application. A sealed thermal envelope makes the structure more energy efficient, healthier, comfortable and durable than traditionally insulated structures.

BioBased Insulation also integrates rapidly renewable ingredients as a replacement for a portion of the petroleum in many of our insulation products without hindering their performance. Both BioBased 501s and BioBased 1701 s insulating foams incorporate soy polyols. Both products utilise water as a blowing agents as opposed to chemicals.

BioBased Insulation is much more effective than traditional insulation products, because the foam insulation is applied as a liquid. When it is sprayed onto the intended surface, it expands 100 times its original liquid size in seconds. As it expands, it conforms and fills each cavity, crevasse, and void to create a thermal envelope. BioBased Insulation is a highly-efficient seal against air infiltration, the number one source of energy loss. This innovative insulation adheres to any clean, dry surface and will not shrink, settle, or disintegrate.

If you've got a question or enquiry about our Bio Based Insulation products please don't hesitate to call us on 053 9375360/087 9887017 or email us. Alternatively you can use the enquiry/call back form on our contact page.
